Whatever your need; whatever your question here is the solution; Get hungry and thirsty. God is knocking at your door and he wants to give you everything that he has. If you are lukewarm he will spew you out of his mouth. You must be on fire for God; passionate; hungry and thirsty for all that he has freely given. The expressions of God are the rivers of God pouring out in the tongues of men and angels; the flow of the Holy Spirit.
Everyone who allows the word of God to work in their life will bring forth a hundredfold. What hinders? Hard ground, rocks and thorns and weeds. Jesus’ axe is in his hand and he will lay it to the root of every tree which does not bring forth fruit. John the baptist was told by Jesus; the deaf hear, the blind see and the poor have the gospel preached unto them. Today you hear the report and all men say; it is not true.
Jesus said you cannot be my disciple unless you take up your cross and follow me. This is not the asceticism of earlier days or of all the other :isms” of the false religions. Jesus’ cross was to do the will of the Father even at the cost of his own life. He spoke about us living out a life so controlled by the Holy Spirit that we become the vessels which show forth the power of the river of God just as it flowed forth from him and even greater. Everywhere you go you should be a pool of water which blesses all those around you with the working of the divine compassion of God. You must have a relationship with God to do this.
Let God be true and every man a liar; get on your face and knees until a transformation takes place. Get hungry and thirsty; poor and needy. The waters of self interest will pollute you. The waters of religion will pollute you. You will be found as those who cannot cease from sin; whose damnation is just. There must be a distinction between that which is good and that which is evil.
Num 10:11* ¶ And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.
12* And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.
13 And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
This is post the first Pentecost. They only moved when the cloud moved. Where he leads me I will follow.
Num 10:33* And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.
34 And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.
35* And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.
36* And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, unto the many thousands of Israel.
When you have the presence of the Lord all around you and you acknowledge him then he will be all around you and protect you and all of his enemies will be scattered.
Let us follow on to know the Lord, devoted to that which he has granted to us that we would rule and reign with him. Is salvation a living reality or something not yet realized? It is truly a living reality for those who will call upon him with all their heart.
When the people complained it displeased the Lord.
Num 11:1* ¶ And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
Hebrews 4 will show us that this is an example for us. He does not put up with hatred and suspicion and treason.
2* And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.
3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.
We live in a day where for most things God postpones judgment. But for some there is swift judgment. Ananias and Sapphira died immediately when they lied to the Holy Ghost.
If there is falsehood, pretense hypocrisy and iniquity than the fire or the lightenings of God will be judgment and not a blessing to you. God demands change; he has brought change by the work of Jesus Christ.
What follows is the Lord beginning to create a cure for their murmering and complaining and their lack of spiritual insight. The organizations of men could not be a solution for their spiritual depravity; Only God’s solution will do. We will see the beginnings of the school of the prophets.
4* ¶ And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
5* We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:
6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
They were dry and thirsty for the wrong things. Beware you also lay to heart the deceitfulness of the wealth of this world. God will hear the cry of lust and bring fatness to your body and leanness to your soul. That is the way of the perpetual backslider. You must come to God to be healed of your iniquity and your sin.
*We are here to throw fuel on the fire of the spirit; Quench not the fire; the spirit of God! His ways demand relationship and communion with God. Jesus said I am the true manna and whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood will live forever. You must learn to live by the word for faith is the reality and proof of the unseen. God demands that we no longer live by our own fallible perception of things. There is no truth outside of God’s word. When you are truly thirsty I will open up rivers form the high places.
You must have your own walk with God otherwise you are a burden; a dead weight.
16 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.
17* And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.
24 ¶ And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.
25* And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.
The school of the prophets was born; these became the spiritual leaders. He chose after those who were nobles and officers who were looked to by the people. This was God’s remedy for their spiritual need.
I would that all God’s people were prophets. Moses received a measure and he had to give some of it up because of the burden. We have received an unlimited baptism in the Holy Ghost; what makes the difference is your obedience. You must be responsible and faithful with that which he has given.
